About Karen Brown
Karen studied archaeology at Yeovil College, and after taking an active part in local archaeological societies took up metal detecting. She is now the chairman of Weymouth and Portland Metal Detecting Club. Her ambition has been to add to the knowledge of our local area, and promote responsible detecting; recovering, conserving and recording metal finds.
About Brian Read
Since 1979 metal-detecting and its associated study of small metal artefacture has been Brian’s primary leisure interest. Brian is currently working on a new book for Greenlight Publishing – Brooches from the Bronze Age until the early post-medieval period.
