One World Festival 2026
Saturday 8th August 2026, 11am-4pm in Dorchester’s Borough Gardens
Harmony on a plate & rhythm in the air! Dorset One World Festival is back once again to celebrate the diversity of cultures in Dorset through world music, dance, food, and activities.
This free event will be held on Saturday 8th August from 11am-4pm at the Borough Gardens in Dorchester and will feature a programme of traditional and modern music involving our local communities.
Last year, we marvelled to the beautiful sounds of the sitar, listened to wonderful traditional songs from Ukraine, enjoyed the sounds of traditional Syrian and Kurdish song, and danced with We Afro Tallawah who provided funky reggae tunes and the smoothest musical delights.
This year, we’ll be joined by…
- Ricky Romain
- Dorchester Malayali Association
- Gugge 2000
- Grains of Hope
- Mustafa Mamu
- Rhythm & Beats
- Four Corners Collectif
- Dragon of the South

The Global Food Village will offer a wide selection of fresh food and drinks from around the world.
Come and taste some incredible cuisine, from Tibetan dumplings and Middle Eastern falafel to mouth-watering Thai food. And that’s not all – there will be Italian pizza, Spanish paella, Turkish food and more! You can finish your meal with some delectable baklava or churros and wash it all down with a drink from the bar.
There will be a wide range of stalls and activities to get involved with, including henna painting, fermentation workshops, and basket weaving.
Children can enjoy themselves on the bouncy castle and get arty in crafts workshops.

“We hope that residents and visitors come and enjoy the festival and experience a fun, friendly and culturally enriching day” said Mona Elkotory, Chair of the South West Dorset Multicultural Network
One World Festival is being hosted by the South West Dorset Multicultural Network and Dorchester Town Council.
