The Keep Military Museum is temporarily closed for structural surveys.
The most spectacular military museum in the South literally cannot be missed as you come up High West Street, Dorchester.
What makes this museum so special is that until 1958 the Dorset Regiment’s Depot and Barracks were in active use so the building itself is living history.
The museum features computer and digital presentation, realistic battle environments, together with exhibitions and the tales of courage, humour and sacrifice spread over 300 years. A vast array of campaigns is represented and put into a historical context in the video introduction in the bunker.
The Keep Military Museum is currently closed on a short-term basis whilst awaiting further structural surveys on the building. We take the safety of all our visitors, volunteers and staff seriously and as such we are taking this precaution to keep everybody safe. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and we hope to be open again as soon as possible. Please check back on our website or social media channels for further updates.
