Catch up over Breakfast
There is always so much to catch up on when you haven’t seen your friends for a while. A lovely café to enjoy breakfast or brunch and fill each other in on recent events is much needed. You are spoilt for choice in Poundbury. I chose to meet my friend at Fables and Food for some delicious South African breakfast dishes. It was a hot sunny day, so we sat outside in the shade overlooking the beautiful fountain in Victor Jackson Square.
If you do decide to go to Fables and Food, then don’t miss out on a visit to House of Dorchester for some delicious chocolates from their factory shop! It is located on the other side of Victor Jackson Square!

Unique finds in beautiful boutiques around the Buttermarket
Poundbury is a unique shopping experience. It doesn’t have a high street with everything together, instead you have a series of squares with collections of wonderful independent shops. Each square is different and exploring them is part of the magic of a shopping day in Poundbury.
We recommend exploring the Buttermarket area first. There are plenty of shops to enjoy and there are some electric car charging points too which are pretty handy!

Time for a coffee
This is a relaxing day of shopping so after exploring a few shops its time to sit down and enjoy a morning coffee. As we were in the Buttermarket area anyway, we both enjoyed flat white at Finca. They are in a beautiful octagonal building and the outside seating area is idyllic.

More shopping – Exploring Queen Mother Square and Crown Square
Other shopping squares that are a must to visit are Queen Mother Square and Crown Square. We discovered some gorgeous handmade jewellery in Mashmallow Avenue and the smell inside The Rhubarb Candle Company was heavenly!

Spa time!
In the afternoon we checked into Monart Day Spa which is located in Queen Mother Sqaure. It has been designed with the ethos of creating an environment where you can truly rest, relax and rejuvenate in beautiful surroundings. We definitely relaxed! We did the three hour thermal experience which included a gorgeous fluffy robe and slippers, a private relaxation lounger and access to the thermal suite.
You will be so relaxed now and you will not want this day to end so why not book into the Duchess of Cornwall Inn and let the fun with friends continue!
