One World Festival
The Dorset One World Festival is a free local event to celebrate the diversity of cultures in Dorchester through music, dance, food and activities.
This FREE event will feature a programme of traditional and modern music involving our local communities. They’ll be delights of Ukraine, Syrian and Kurdish songs, dancing with funky reggae tunes, and loads more. This year will even have a feature from Dragon of the South with their mythological Chinese Lion dance!
The Global Food Village will offer a wide selection of fresh food and drinks from around the world. Come and taste some incredible cuisine, from Tibetan dumplings and Middle Eastern falafel to mouth-watering Thai food. And that’s not all – there will be Italian pizza, Spanish paella, Turkish food and more! You can finish your meal with some delectable baklava or churros and wash it all down with a drink from the bar.
There will be a wide range of stalls and activities to get involved with, including dance intros, henna painting, workshops, and basket weaving. Children can enjoy themselves on the bouncy castle and get arty in crafts workshops.
One World Festival is being hosted by the South West Dorset Multicultural Network and Dorchester Town Council. The event is sponsored by Dorchester Town Council, Dorset Council, Dorset Community Foundation, Poundbury Community Trust, Unite, Magna Housing, Casterbridge Rotary Club, and South West Dorset Multicultural Network.
