Young Photographers’ Competition ‘MY DORSET’ (Urban Landscape)
This summer holiday, young people between the ages of 5 and 16 can get creative through photography and focus on what they love about Dorset, in a photography competition, to accompany the Shire Museum’s summer exhibition, ‘Dorset People’.
With the title, ‘My Dorset: Urban Landscape’, the competition offers plenty of scope for creative opportunities; from capturing a favourite building or monument, to photographing abstract patterns, colours, reflections and shadows and ways that nature lives side by side with the man-made environment. The competition will be split into three different age categories, with prizes to be won in each one.
Initial selection and shortlisting will be undertaken by a panel of judges, chosen by the Museum team and these photographs will be displayed in the Shire Hall cafe, where the public can choose their favourite – the image they think captures the spirit of My Dorset the best.
With various gift vouchers as prizes, the winner from each category will also have their image professionally printed and exhibited in the museum, as well as being featured on social media.
PLEASE NOTE: Photographs should be submitted by email, by a parent or guardian, who are advised to read all submission details and terms and conditions on the Museum website beforehand.
