The Sunset Cafe Band featuring Marlene Hill

This is a first time visit to Dorchester Arts for Marlene Hill, a marvellous and engaging singer, whose superb voice is equally at home with the Blues, Gospel songs and the Great American Songbook. Expect to hear songs by Bessie Smith, Ella Fitzgerald, and Ethel Waters, later covered by the likes of Amy Winehouse and Whitney Houston.

And it’s a welcome return to the Corn Exchange for the popular seven-piece Sunset Café outfit for this performance, with their particular take on 1920s and ‘30s jazz and swing.
