The role of local regiments in D-Day and the Liberation of Bayeux
Author and Keep Museum volunteer, Christopher, has written or edited 15 books, mostly military histories. His interest is in the people and telling their stories in their own words.
On D-Day, the first British infantry to land on the Normandy beaches were 231 Malta Brigade: the 1st Hampshires, 1st Dorsets and 2nd Devons, who landed at 0730 east of Arromanches above Bayeux.
This talk tells their story on 6th June 1944.
