Talk: The Nothe Fort by Ian Brooke

Built in the 1860’s, designed to protect the harbour from attack and French invasion. Used during WW2. The Fort is now a Museum.

Founded in 1982, the Dorchester Association for research into local history and archaeology is dedicated to the study and appreciation of local history and archaeology in Dorchester and its surroundings. The town has long fascinated historians with its well preserved Roman remains and there are many other buildings and monuments of interest to explore.

Membership

If you are not already a member, why not join to keep in touch with our events. The cost is only £10 per year. Meetings are free to members, a £5 donation is suggested for non-members. Other events are arranged during the year. Contact the Secretary, Michael Rice, if you are interested, downloads a membership form from our website or join a meeting.
