Guided Walk -Explore the Roman Road in Thorncombe Wood Local Nature Reserve
As part of the Dorchester Roman Festival, join the Thorncombe Ranger Claire and Archaeologist Steve for a guided walk along the Roman Road in Thorncombe Wood Local Nature Reserve, just 3 miles east of Dorchester. This informative walk will bring to life the heritage the reserve is home to as well as an insight into the wildlife whom call it home. The walk extends beyond the reserve on Duddle Heath and its bronze age Tumuli, famously know from the works of Thomas Hardy; Rainbarrows.
The walk involves a couple of steep inclines on unlevel paths. Meeting point Hardy’s Birthplace Visitor Centre.
