Enjoy a 90 minute ghostly walk around historic Dorchester.
Experience the highlights some of the places, people and events that have contributed to the town’s 6000 year story. From prehistory through the Roman period to Judge Jeffreys and his Bloody Assize. The Tolpuddle Martyrs and the writings of Thomas Hardy and William Barnes all feature in this walk:
“Spectre, phantom, ghoul or ghost,
Which do you fear the most ?
Join me tonight at eight of the clock,
And we shall together their secrets unlock.
Tiptoe through alleys and down to the river;
Who will be first to quake and to quiver?
Guided walks run until Halloween.
There will be a Hallowe’en Special on Sunday 31st October 2021.
On Halloween evening, bookings will be required and will run in 2 groups.
The ghost walks run every Thursday evening, up to and including Thursday 28th October 2021, and start from the Kings Arms Hotel at 8pm .
During school holidays, including half term, they also run on Tuesday evenings from the same starting point and at the same time.
90 minute duration, are suitable for wheelchairs and buggies, well-behaved dogs are welcome.
No booking is needed.
