Film night: Le Diner de Cons

A comedy/farce, the second highest grossing French film of 1998, winner of three César awards. Based on a successful Parisian stage play known as The Dinner Game. The plot revolves around an all-male dinner party. An eccentric taxman is invited to join the guests to amuse – or is it to bore? – them, with his passion for making matchstick models – but who will have the last laugh? Farcical situations and comic dilemmas abound. Well-timed twists and turns.

A product of the 1990s, you will cringe at the social values of that time, but still laugh at the excellent comic acting. An interesting and fun film on many levels. Give it a go!
