Peter Bellamy is the principal archaeologist of Terrain Archaeology and has been working as a commercial archaeologist in Dorset for over forty years. He has a particular interest in the archaeology of the Roman town of Dorchester having been involved in many excavations both large and small since coming to live in the town.
Steve Wallis, originally from the West Riding of Yorkshire, has called Dorset home for over thirty years. As a Senior Archaeologist at Dorset Council, he plays a key role in assessing the archaeological impact of planning applications while also engaging in a wide range of heritage-related projects. His work in Dorchester includes involvement in the restoration of Dorchester’s Roman Town House, helping to preserve and interpret this important site for future generations. Passionate about local history, Steve also leads guided walks and delivers talks on various aspects of Dorset’s rich archaeological past, bringing the region’s heritage to life for the community.
