You are warmly invited to our monthly, cathedral-style service of Choral Evensong on Saturday 28th June at 4.30pm in St Peter’s Church, Dorchester. The music includes Duruflé’s ‘Tu es Petrus’, the ‘Preces & Responses’ by Richard Ayleward, Sydney Watson’s ‘Evening Canticles in E’ and Jonathan Dove’s ‘Seek him that maketh the seventh stars’. Admission is free and there is a glass of wine to follow. All are very welcome.
Set in the heart of the vibrant county town of Dorchester, St Peter’s has become a focal point for musical excellence. In addition to championing the Anglican choral tradition within the wonderful surroundings and acoustics of our 15th century church, Music at St Peter’s offers a fantastic range of concerts and recitals, mostly with a liturgical theme. We have been delighted to host evenings of spectacular choral singing by the Gentlemen of St John’s College, Cambridge and The Gesualdo Six, as well as a fabulous organ recital by John Challenger, Assistant Director of Music at Salisbury Cathedral.
