We are hosting a 24 hour search for wildlife on campus here at Kingston Maurward College (Dorchester) on Sunday 12th June 10 am – 4 pm
Please come along and join one of our guest led walks looking for anything flying, crawling or growing here on the beautiful estate.
All work to organise this event has been done by students from Wildlife, Ecology and Conservation (level 3)
10 am: Moth trap release with Mike Jeffes
11 am: Bird Walk, with Daisy Meadowcraft, from Dorset Wildlife Trust
12 pm: Botany Walk, with Jim White (MBE)
1 pm: Tree Walk, with Sarah Spurling, from the Veteran Trees Project
2 pm: Nature Walk, with Andy Fale, from the Countryside Regeneration Trust
3 pm: Botany Walk with Anita Diaz, from Bournemouth University
Alongside the guided walks, there will be ponding dipping sessions every hour, running from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm
There are plenty of other things to get involved with as well, such as scavenger hunts and activity sheets available to help you explore the area on your own. We also have several local organisations – including the RSPB, Dorset Wildlife TRust, and the National Trust – coming along to help us out, so check out their stands at the entrance to the animal park.
