Choral Evensong for the feast of St Peter

You are warmly invited to our monthly, cathedral-style service of Choral Evensong for the feast of St Peter on Saturday 27^th June at 4.30pm in St Peter’s Church, Dorchester. The music includes Duruflé’s ‘Tu es Petrus’, Ayleward’s ‘Preces & Responses’, Kelly’s ‘Magnificat and Nunc dimittis in C’ and Sumsion’s ‘They that go down to the sea in ships’. Set in the heart of the vibrant county town of Dorchester, St Peter’s has become a focal point for musical excellence. In addition to championing the Anglican choral tradition within the wonderful surroundings and acoustics of our 15th century church, Music at St Peter’s offers a fantastic range of concerts and recitals, mostly with a liturgical theme. We have been delighted to host evenings of spectacular choral singing by the Gentlemen of St John’s College, Cambridge and The Gesualdo Six, as well as a fabulous organ recital by John Challenger, Assistant Director of Music at Salisbury Cathedral.
