A Courtroom Opera – The Trial of Iago
The murder of Desdemona has shocked the country. Her once-loving husband became consumed by rage and suspicion and killed her, poisoned by the villainous words of the wicked Iago. But can one man be tried for the actions of another? And what exactly is the evidence against Iago?
In this thrilling retelling of the story of Verdi’s Otello, the truth will unravel. And don’t worry if you can’t understand a word of it because that’s where the Judge comes in to explain EVERYTHING!
Put aside operatic stereotypes – and what you remember from that excerpt on BBC Radio 3 you chanced upon while driving home in the car one day, and enter the world of the courtroom! Where singing in Italian makes perfect sense, and the evidence for jealousy and betrayal will be examined in the finest detail before being sung LIVE right in front of you!
