A Celebration of American Music: Open Rehearsal

Join Dorchester Choral Society for our free and informal events on Saturday 27th June 2026. We will be performing a wonderful collection of short, tuneful, choral pieces with an American theme in recognition of the 250th anniversary of American Independence.  There will be works by 20th century and living composers, a spiritual, a song from the movies….something for all tastes.  The choir’s Director of Music, Duncan Emerson, will be conducting and Heather Reed will accompany us.

In the morning from 10.30-1200, at the United Church you are warmly invited to drop in on an open rehearsal: come and go as you please.  This will be a relaxed and casual event, designed to be accessible to all.

At 5.30pm we will be performing our short concert at St Martin’s Church, Martinstown, DT2 9JR.  Here there will be wine and soft drinks for sale and we will take a retiring collection, proceeds from which will be split between church and choir funds.

Tickets are not required for either event.
