The Roman Town House in Dorchester is the only example of a fully exposed Roman Town House in the country. It is free to visit and a range of tours are offered.
The Roman Town House is owned and managed by Dorset Council, and supported by the Dorchester Joint Heritage Committee and the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Pedestrian access is well signed from the top of the town down the path past the Thomas Hardy statue to the entrance at Northernhay. The Town House is five minutes’ walk from the town centre.
Access information - There is disabled driver car parking at the site entrance. The Town House is accessed by steps and a graded path which is suitable for wheelchair users.
