La Caverna
For over 26 years La Caverna have been serving delicious, freshly made Italian food in the historical town of Dorchester.
Small family-run restaurant specialising in Italian food. Franco and Alison have been trading for 20 years.
La Caverna was established in 1992 by chef Franco and partners. Franco is still at the helm, producing delicious Sicilian/Italian food inspired by his childhood in Sicily and his Mamma’s cooking.
The restaurant is housed in the cellar of a former grain store which provides an exceptionally intimate atmosphere, helped by the warmth and efficiency of the front-of-house staff.
The menu is extensive, featuring traditional Italian food as well as more modern dishes devised by Franco, with many of the raw ingredients being locally sourced.
La Caverna is open Monday to Saturday, evenings only, from 6.30pm. Last orders at 10pm. The restaurant is fairly small and booking is advisable.
