A market has been held around Cornhill since Anglo Saxon times. Dorchester became the County Town in 1305 and in 1629 was granted a Market Charter by Charles I. The Charter is managed by Dorchester Town Council.

Various pitch sizes are available with special pricing packages available to suit different budgets. The Market operates from 7.00am to 6.00pm, Monday to Sunday.
